Race Series

Atlantic Region Motor Sports is an Endurance Road Racing Series. It is sanctioned under the National Automobile Sports Association (A.S.N.) ASN is sanctioned under the International Federation of Autosports which is also Formula 1 ‘s governing body. ARMS is the only Endurance Road Racing Series of its type in Atlantic Canada.

The GT (Grand Touring) class, is a class for all sedan Race cars. There are six sub-classes in Grand Touring; GT-1 to GT-6. These are classified by there weight versus horsepower. Examples of these cars would be Camaros, Trans-Ams, Datsuns, Hondas, Corvettes, Mustangs, Toyotas, etc.

Each season consists of approximately five racing events that form a championship series. The interesting thing of this type of racing is that all of these GT cars are raced on the track at the same time. It makes for a very interesting race. The majority of the races are involved locally at Atlantic Motorsport Park in Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia. In order to race in these events, one must hold a Canadian regional or national race licence. One must be a member of one of the four sports car clubs in Atlantic Canada. Also, and most important, one must have attended and graduated from a performance race school put on by one of the various sports car clubs.
